FOTDP /// i love tomorrow

Providing unstoppable grooves since 2010, Federation of the Disco Pimp are Scotland’s premier exponent of modern funk. Combining elements of Old-School Funk, Disco, Psychedelic and Jazz, this 7-piece band of Scots are legendary for their endless energy and blistering live sets.

Following a successful debut release on Japanese label ‘P-Vine Records’ in 2011, FOTDP finally released their first full-length album, 'More Than Dancing’ in 2012, produced by Brooklyn-based engineering and production legend ‘Joel Hamilton’ (Elvis Costello, Tom Waits, Justin Timberlake, Lettuce). Upon it's release, ‘More Than Dancing’ achieved 'A-playlist' radio selection nationally, radio airplay internationally and inclusion on P-Vine Record's Japan label. FOTDP have since been included on P-Vine’s fourth compilation album (their 3rd feature with the label) & Freestyle Records’ ‘Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club Compilation’.

Championed by renowned actor and funk legend Craig Charles (BBC 6), Stephen Duffy on ‘The Jazz House’ (BBC Radio Scotland) and Christian Bragg (Jazz Fm), FOTDP have gained a solid reputation in the UK funk scene resulting in further live performances supporting Craig Charles’ Funk and Soul Show across the UK.

Federation of the Disco Pimp have toured the UK, Europe and North America, sharing the stage with various international artists including – George Clinton & Parliament, Family Stone, Fred Wesley & the JB’s, Giles Peterson, Roots Manuva, Lee Fields, The James Taylor Quartet, The Neil Cowley Trio and Hot 8 Brass Band.

2014 has been a busy and exciting year for FOTDP, with the band being fortunate enough to secure the resident house band position on BBC 1’s 'Tonight at the Games' for 10 nights during The Commonwealth Games 2014. During this time the band also featured on BBC 3 every night to close their coverage, performed as the house band on BBC 2's 'Newsnight' live from the Fringe 'Referendum Special’, as well as live in-studio sessions on BBC 6's 'Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show' and BBC Radio Scotland's 'Jazz House on Radio Scotland’, to name but a few highlights.

FOTDP also returned to recording haven ‘Studio G Brooklyn’, NY during Fall 2014 to track their brand new record ‘Inamorata' with audio wizard Joel Hamilton once again at the production and engineering helm. ‘Inamorata’ is a concept of 'Forbidden Loves' and features a huge Scottish theme throughout, including track titles such as 'No Place Like Home' & 'I Love Tomorrow’. The album also includes special guest artists ‘Eric Krasno' (Soulive/Lettuce), ‘Aaron Livingston’ (Son little), ‘Dave Guy’ (The Roots/Daptones), ‘Sasha Dobson’ (Nora Jones / Puss n Boots) and many more.
